If you've noticed the notice at missmary.com...yes, I am going to step back into the mix.
While backing up my old computer's hard drive this past weekend, I realized what an awful lot of digital "stuff" I have. And in my idle moments away from the web, I've discovered that there is an awful lot of physical "stuff" cluttering up my house and taking up space and mind.
Mind, I say, because it's difficult to focus on creating when I can't move due to the clutter overload!
The digital stuff is useless unless others can enjoy it. What I consider clutter could be useful to some.
So stay tuned...and really, you didn't think I would stay offline forever, right?

Experimenting
I've been mostly offline lately, yet I still can't seem to find time for creative pursuits. Many reasons for this. I had thought that if I went offline for a spell, that I would be able to shift my focus away from the digital, but alas! Not so, not so.
Off to make a green bean casserole--an Easter tradition. Just thought I'd pop, it's been a while and for the few folk who are following this rather pathetic blog, I hope to be a bit more entertaining now that tax season (for me at least) is done and done.

Duck Hunt
Still getting all of my ducks in a row--for target practice, what else?!
Working on my taxes off and on this weekend, realizing that having a business that was more fun than profit is now more paperwork than either.
Nothing fires up the borderline anarchist in me like taxes. Numbers are fuzzy and abstract to my mind. Why can't I be left alone to enjoy my crumbs in peace?

Primitive Designs Stencil Co.
I had an idea to stencil my dreadfully beat hardwood floors some time back, and while revisiting the Primitive Designs Stencil Co., was shocked and saddened to learn of the recent passing of owner Leanne Marie Watson on December 11th.
So very sad, but how wonderful that she left behind such a magnificent catalog of original designs! Her family will continue to operate the site, with her daughter carrying on the tradition and producing new designs.

Goodbye and Hello
I've just finished my last "Gazette" to my newsletter subscribers and it's a strange feeling--I know that I'm heading in the right direction for me, personally, but I hate to think that I've disappointed some folks.
If I have, I do apologize, but...but...
this online world we play in is fragile and ephemeral, in spite of archives and back-ups. If you have not gotten to a point in your life where your cup is half-empty, you may not be able to relate; but I need to create something real, something that you can hold in your hand and pass along.
In this age where we, as carbon-based life forms, are being told that we need to reduce our carbon footprint, I find that I want to leave a footprint--something that tells the world that hey, I was here!
But I promise that I'll make it a small footprint.
